BIOGRAPHY
Having grown up in Northern Ireland, Jamie and the McCool family moved to Manchester when he was 10 years old. His childhood wasn’t without its challenges, but he found solace in music, singing along to everyone from Sam Cooke, Otis Reading and Tracey Chapman to David Gray, Adele and Moby.
After studying music he went on to front Black Lights, a band that developed a strong Manchester following.
In 2016 – 2017, Jamie released four collaborations with BtheLick & DJ Clipps, including You My Friend , which reached No.1 in the Spotify Viral Charts in Germany and peaking at No.12 in the Spotify Global Charts.
In 2017, Jamie went on to gain recognition for writing Counting On Me for Aloe Blacc, Aeroplane and Purple Disco Machine.

After a few years off from singing for personal reasons, Jamie returned in 2022. After a chance meeting with ThinkTonk, he was introduced to DJ Fresh, and the collaboration Rivers was released in March 2023. Shifting his focus to session writing for dance and drum & bass tracks, he signed a publishing deal with Bucks Music Group Ltd and quickly found himself collaborating with artists/producers like Armin Van Buuren, Goddard, Troy Miller, Roro, Toddla T, Julia Church and Charlotte Haining. These sessions have led to feature releases with DJ Fresh, High Contrast, Used, Rules, Lincoln Jesser, Makoto and Eelke Kleijn with even more exciting projects on the way very soon.
Currently, Jamie is working on new solo material in his Rochdale studio alongside his songwriting team, Simon Pogson and Max Mawdsley. This new music taps into a fresh hard-hitting sound that highlights Jamie’s vocal talent and versatility. Keep an eye out for what’s coming next!
